Roman Kozak is the grandson of four World War II Nazi labor camp survivors. Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, his family history and upbringing ingrained in him the values that made the United States the greatest country in the world. He was taught to value and cherish the freedom and incredible opportunity this country gave his family. At the heart of these values are his Christian faith and conservative principles of government. When he was just 25 years old, Roman ran for City Council in Beaver Falls. In a city with 65% Democrat registration he lost by only 17 votes, showing his cross-party appeal and work ethic. Initiatives advocated for by Roman during the campaign would end up being adopted by the Beaver Falls Council after the election. Even after losing his race for Beaver Falls City Council, Kozak was appointed to the city’s Planning Commission, a position in which he served for six years. He was also a founding board member of the Beaver Falls Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that serves the Beaver Falls community as an umbrella organization to support Beaver Falls community and municipal projects. Kozak started off his career in the transportation and trucking industry, handling logistics for steel, concrete, brick, and dairy manufacturing clients. For the past decade, Roman has worked in education and currently serves as a high school history and social studies teacher. Kozak also previously served as a legislative aid for former State Representative Jim Christiana. He then moved into roles as the campaign chairman for two successful state Representative campaigns before being unanimously elected as chair of the Republican Committee of Beaver County. Prior to becoming Chairman of the RCBC, Roman was the RCBC sub-committee chair for Outreach and Communications and helped to restructure the committee. Roman is a graduate of Geneva College and has served as a youth soccer, baseball, and basketball coach in Chippewa, New Brighton, and West Mayfield. He also trains in and currently ranks as a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Roman, his wife Lauren (Pasquale), and their four sons live and attend church in the Beaver Falls area.

I am running for state representative because I want to give my children a better life. I am running because I want our families and communities to be safe. I want to see increased economic opportunities for future generations. Pennsylvania is at a critical crossroads in which we see more urgent decisions that affect our nation and our local communities being decided in Harrisburg. There are many important issues being discussed right now such as the proper use of Pennsylvania's natural resources, support for our workforce, plans to address infrastructure inadequacies, plans to address our educational inadequacies, and the best way to grow our state and local economies. Our small businesses, especially our family-owned businesses, struggle under the yoke of overregulation. In Pennsylvania, we are all being overtaxed. As the father of four sons, I believe that the family is the cornerstone of our commonwealth. Educational opportunities for our children and the safety of our communities are of paramount importance to me. I want to be a strong voice for our families. We need leaders who will be willing to stand against the current wave of extreme far left policies surfacing in our commonwealth and region. As the grandson of four World War II Nazi labor camp survivors, I had the upbringing which gave me a strong moral compass, a strong faith, and strong roots in our community. These will guide me in proudly representing the families of the 14th district in the state house.
