Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Should education funding be available directly to families through a grant, scholarship, or education savings account so that parents can send their children to the school of their choice, including religious schools? Y
2. Should marijuana be legalized and sold commercially for recreational use? N* We must protect our children. There is never room for putting our children or family’s lives at risk to make money on something as risky as this. If people genuinely need it for medical use they can always go see a doctor and get this but to legalize it for recreational use is not something I can get behind.
3. Should the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act be amended to include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," which would require public schools and other public facilities to open up restrooms and locker rooms to members of the opposite sex? N
4. Should Pennsylvania enter into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which would include a new carbon tax on electricity producers? N
5. Should increases in state government spending be limited to the rate of inflation plus population growth? Y
6. Should state taxpayer funding be allowed for elective abortions? N
7. Should all voters be required to show identification before voting? Y* It’s that simple - why would anyone fight not to have Voter ID? Voters want and expect this and are being denied but why? Let their voice be heard - the people want Voter ID.
8. Should striking union members have access to unemployment compensation? N
9. Should public schools be prohibited from allowing males who identify as females to compete in girls’ sports? Y
10. Should schools have to post curriculum online for review by parents and taxpayers? Y
11. Should funding for public and state-related universities follow the student rather than go directly to the institution? Y* Why should a select few elite schools get funding and do what they want with the tax payer dollars they are handed with no stipulations? They don’t even give it all to the students and they refuse to freeze tuition increases yet keep asking for more and more. Last year their employees sent my office form letters that they didn’t get their raise because of my NO vote yet these universities bragged it all goes to the students which is simply not true. My constituents that attend other fantastic schools in our home state get nothing from the state so how is that just? We see so many elderly that can’t make ends meet and why are their tax dollars being given away to these wealthy universities. We can do better and should be.
